What is SWAYAM?

SWAYAM is a tested platform for interactive, industry-relevant learning, part of the national digital education system of Bhaarat. It offers students opportunities to acquire up-to-date, job-ready skillsets through a flexible and recognized framework, equipping them for modern careers.

Digital Education Ecosystem

SWAYAM is just one part of a comprehensive digital education landscape, which also includes platforms like SAMARTH, NPTEL, DIKSHA, PM e-VIDYA, AICTE, IGNOU, UGC, NITTTR, NIOS, NCERT, INI, IIMB, CEC and more. Over 350 Indian universities recognize SWAYAM courses for academic credit.

Gauhati University’s Role

  • Local Chapter of NPTEL and linkage to the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) system for flexible learning.
  • Recognition and integration of SWAYAM courses in curricula, enhancing employability and future-readiness.
  • Initiatives to collaborate with Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
  • Aim to be the Nodal Agency for the North Eastern Region, fostering a vibrant industry-academia ecosystem.
  • Development of SWAYAM+ and NSDC Academy for innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable learning for #ViksitBharat@2047.
